A family-owned restaurant in Kings Mountain has closed its doors after 20 years of serving homestyle cooking to the community.
Mountain View Restaurant closed on March 15 with little warning, according to an employee.
The closure was first announced in a Facebook post on Kings Mountain Town Talk, which received mixed reactions.
Some community members expressed sadness, praising the restaurant's good food and reasonable prices. Others commented that the building was in need of renovations.
One person mentioned that Taxco Mexican Grill is expected to open in the building located at 100 W. King St.
An email inquiry to Taxco Mexican Grill, which operates locations in Gaston and Mecklenburg counties, was not returned before publication.
