The Washoe County Planning Division has completed a draft of the equine business code, which is available online and can be viewed here: Equine Business Annotated Draft. Planners will host several opportunities in the coming weeks to provide feedback on the draft code.
The first is an Equine Business Code Update Webinar that will review the equine business code update process so far, what we heard during Phase 1 of public outreach, a broad overview of what is proposed in the draft, and a demonstration on how to provide feedback through our online survey. The intent of the webinar is to provide relevant context for the equine business code update and to show people how to engage and provide feedback online.
Date: Wednesday March 25, 2026
Time: 5 p.m.
Zoom Information: https://washoecounty-gov.zoom.us/j/93728104041; Phone one-tap: +16694449171
The online survey will be open through Sunday, April 5, and only takes a few minutes to complete. Take the quick survey to provide feedback on the proposed amendments.
There will also be six opportunities to participate in in-person focus groups, and two online focus groups. Small groups (eight people or fewer) will talk through the draft amendments and provide feedback. Focus groups will not include a presentation. All focus groups will be the same. Those interested in participating can sign up here: sign up page. Signups are required to ensure that small group sizes are maintained.
