Energy bandwidth studies provide foundational references to define the range (or bandwidth) of potential energy savings in U.S. manufacturing. This study focuses on energy consumption and savings opportunities within U.S. glass products manufacturing. It draws on multiple data sources to estimate energy use across four sub-processes for five sub-products, which together accounted for 79% of the sector's energy consumption in 2010. The identified energy savings opportunities are based on technologies currently in use or under development. These findings are then extrapolated to estimate the overall energy savings potential across the glass manufacturing sector.
